Frequently asked

Wedding DJ hire - your questions answered

How much does a wedding DJ cost in Sydney?+

Most Sydney wedding DJs sit between $1,800 and $3,500 for a full-day booking - ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. NINETEEN92 MUSIC quotes per event based on venue, hours, run sheet and any extras like additional speakers, dancefloor lighting or a second rig for the ceremony. Send your date and venue for a firm number within 24 hours.

How far in advance should we book our wedding DJ?+

For Sydney weddings, 9–12 months out is the sweet spot - peak Saturdays between October and April book out first. We do take shorter-notice enquiries when the diary allows, so it's always worth asking even if your date is close.

Do you cover the ceremony as well as the reception?+

Yes. A full wedding booking includes a separate ceremony PA with lapel mic for vows, processional and recessional cues, and a seamless handover into cocktail hour and reception. You get one DJ for the whole day - no patchwork suppliers.

What questions should we ask a wedding DJ before booking?+

Ask about: backup gear and contingency plans, public liability insurance, how the run sheet is built, whether the DJ has played your venue, the music style and how requests are handled, and exactly what's included vs charged extra. We answer all of these in writing on the first call.

Can we send a do-not-play list and request specific songs?+

Always. Every booking starts with a planning call where we lock in your first dance, parent dances, key moments and a do-not-play list. Guests can request on the night - but nothing on your no-list ever gets played.

Do we really need a DJ for a small wedding?+

A Spotify playlist will play music - it won't read the room, manage mic announcements, control volume across speeches, or build energy for the dancefloor. Even for 40–60 guests, a DJ is what turns a nice evening into a night people actually remember.

What areas around Sydney do you cover?+

Bondi, Coogee and the Eastern Suburbs, Northern Beaches and Palm Beach, Inner West and CBD rooftops, plus Hunter Valley, Southern Highlands and destination weddings on request.
